LUKA DONCIC NAMES HIS TOP 3 PERIMETER DEFENDERS IN THE NBA

Luka Doncic is set to lead his Dallas Mavericks into a tough battle with the No. 1 seeded Oklahoma City Thunder for a second-round NBA playoff matchup that will feature some of the league’s most exciting young stars.

Doncic will have to deal with some of the league’s best perimeter defense from a guy who he believes is one of the league’s top three perimeter defenders.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon shared a quote from Luka praising OKC guard Lu Dort, who he said was in the “top three” perimeter defenders in the league alongside Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday and his teammate, Derrick Jones Jr.

Doncic isn’t alone in placing Dort this high on the proverbial list, as his defense has been a major reason why OKC ascended to the top of the West this season and won 57 games.

Dort had his coming out party in the bubble a few years ago when he harassed James Harden for seven games against the Houston Rockets and has built upon that showing ever since.

The other name on this list that will raise some eyebrows and potentially plant a seed for the future is Derrick Jones Jr., as no one can blame Luka for praising a teammate, as well as an opponent who he is about to go to battle with.

He may have just created a little bulletin board material that could be used against him in a few weeks as if he winds up in a Western Conference Finals matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jaden McDaniels, Anthony Edwards, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are certainly going to have this quote in mind.
